Mawenzi or Hans Meyer Peak

This is a picture of Mawenzi or Hans Meyer Peak. This peak sits to the East of Kilimanjaro and you pass it while hiking up the Marangu Route. Mawenzi Hut sits at the base of this peak and is usually the third night of camping on the Marangu route. From Moshi, Mawenzi never really seems that big, but once you start to get close, it’s a towering mountain.
